These pictures are from the Berkshire Valley WMA. I went to this place looking for Galearis spectabilis, and although I did find a single plant flowering, it was largely not suitable habitat for the orchid I was looking for. It wasn't really suitable habitat for most spring wildflowers, being mostly acidic upland woodlands. To my delight, though, there were a few scattered Goodyera pubescens and one colony of Cypripedium acaule probably two weeks from flowering.
