These pictures are from a phenomenal day in natural areas in Cumberland County.  I saw vegetative Cypripedium acaule and Spiranthes bightensis; Tipularia discolor in bud; and Goodyera pubescens, Gymnadeniopsis clavellata, Platanthera lacera, and Platanthera peramoena flowering.  While I've seen the purple fringeless orchid out of state, this is the first time I've found this extremely rare plant in NJ, and it's the forty-ninth orchid I've seen here.
