The second day of the trip was a light day; we didn't get started until afternoon and couldn't find one of the preserves we were intending to visit. The first one was the Hemmer Woods nature preserve close to Evansville. It was a thickly forested parcel with a single loop trail which made for a nice short hike. The second preserve was the Hunley Creek Bottoms nature preserve, with neither sign nor trails. It was an interesting place to wander about in, but very tiring to slog through wet areas with waist-deep foliage.
