These pictures are from a short hike in the Long Swamp. The wetland itself was easier to hike than the very wet road leading toward it, and it was replete with orchids. I found some spectacular late blooming Cypripedium reginae growing alongside flowers of Calopogon tuberosus and Pogonia ophioglossoides in a verdant tamarack fen. And, in the woodland areas, there were scattered Epipactis helleborine in bud.
