These pictures are from a hike in natural areas in Middlesex County.  I'd received a tip that I might have misidentified the Spiranthes population at one location, so I returned to check it out.  Indeed, upon close examination, they were S. ochroleuca, with the diagnostic yellow stripe down the center of the lip and an unfortunate foul fragrance.
