This photoset is from a hike in natural areas in Passaic County, NJ. I returned two days later to the population of Triphora trianthophora, and it was all flowering! Megabloom! This population is enormous, with thousands of plants. For half of the day the forest floor was blanketed with tiny delicate pink flowers as if they were spring beauties at the beginning of May. But it wasn't spring, and these are some of the rarest plants in the state!
