This photoset is from a hike in Wharton State Forest near the Oswego River.  We set out looking for Pogonia ophioglossoides and Calopogon tuberosus, which we found in short order.  Even better, there were hundreds (if not thousands) of the endangered bog asphodel in bloom, which I'd never seen before.
